U need is love. Doris Uhlich mit Ensemble Divers
In collaboration with the Ensemble Divers, Vienna-based choreographer Doris Uhlich explores the quality and dynamics of human relationships, the interplay of attraction and repulsion, closeness and distance, longing and contact. Performers of different generations, genders and abilities engage in diverse physical codes of love and emotional worlds triggered by fulfilled love and its absence. In addition, the question resonates: how can love be a call for fundamental acceptance and empathy for others beyond lines of conflict and differences?

The western film “Die Entscheidung” was produced in 20/21. Since the production “Ewigkeitendegott” in 2023, the group has been called Ensemble Divers. The productions have been shown at the Arp Museum Rolandseck, dasHaus Ludwigshafen, Idyllerei Nuremberg, Port 25 - Raum für Gegenwartskunst Mannheim, zeitraumexit Mannheim, most recently “Schlager oder Die Sehnsucht nach dem ganz großen Glück” 2024 at Eintanzhaus Mannheim. In addition, there are site-specific performances, such as Fang erst gar nicht so an for the exhibition opening at Port 25 – Raum für Gegenwartskunst in Mannheim, featuring David Julian Kirchner and Thilo Eichhorn, or Träum unbedingt weiter at the Galerie Alte Turnhalle in Bad Dürkheim.
