Performance for a Coloured House
A colourful house in the middle of a ‘Heimatfilm’ setting — often, places don´t reveal their past, yet are gripped by a shudder. Artificial fog, light and sound transform the house and the landscape into a ghostly tableau in which Doris Uhlich immerses herself in Ai Weiwei's artwork and physically and performatively approaching the skeleton of the old Chinese house.
Like the present and the past, architecture and the body also exists in a complex relationship. Architecture penetrates bodies, and at the same time, bodies transform architecture. The choreographer understands space as a body that we move and that moves us.
In the performance for and with the Coloured House, Doris Uhlich walks through invisible walls.
